Call for Special Election



Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A § 21-2-540, a special election shall be held in the Town of Mitchell to fill the vacancy in the office of Mayor, caused by the resignation of the Honorable Scott V. Lamb. The special election will be held on May 19, 2020.

Qualifying for the special election shall be held at Mitchell’s City Hall, 12152 Main Street, Mitchell, GA 30820, beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2020 and ending at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. The qualifying fee shall be $27.00.

All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the special election may register to vote through close of business on April 20, 2020.
Early voting will begin April 27, 2020.
Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Should a runoff be required, such runoff will be held on July 21, 2020.
